CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Lead Disclaimer -
The standard process for making stained glass uses lead. Lead is only harmful if inhaled or ingested.
- Standard protocol to mitigate any risk of handling is to wash hands with soap and water afterwards. Hang them out of reach of children and animals.
- Earrings or jewelry from this shop do NOT contain lead and are safe for prolonged skin contact.

- Hanging Stained Glass -
- I DO NOT recommend hanging even small pieces of stained glass using suction cups or adhesive hooks.
- Stained glass is heavy and should only be securely hung from a hook or nail that is embedded in a secure material like a wall stud or wooden window frame.
- Your piece will come with either jack chain for larger pieces or cotton macrame cord for smaller sun catchers. If you need to change the length chain/cord that comes with your piece to suit your window, jack chain can be found in most hardware stores and macrame cord is sold at most craft stores. Make sure the cord is securely knotted before hanging.

- Cleaning -
- Your piece will come to you thoroughly cleaned and waxed to maintain and protect it.
- DO NOT use any chemical cleaners or solvents to clean your stained glass.
- Use a clean dry cotton or microfiber cloth to gently wipe away any dust or fingerprints. If you need to clean it a little more deeply you may use warm water mixed with a little dish soap and a gentle cloth or soft bristled brush like a toothbrush (that is only used for this purpose). Immediately dry the piece with a clean cloth.
- You can re-seal your piece after cleaning by polishing with a car wax containing carnauba wax.
- Most of my pieces contain foil overlay. When cleaning and polishing areas with a lot of detail work I recommend using a cotton swab and using extra care not to lift any of the overlay edges.
